Meet the Artist
Charlie Mirviss began his career in music at the age of ten, when he took up the trumpet in the fourth grade. An unfortunate stint in braces led him to turn his attention to the piano at the age of fifteen, which eventually led to a Bachelor's degree in music from the University of California Santa Cruz in the early ‘80’s. After graduation Charlie joined a series of bands, eventually forming his own originals group “Fresh Squeeze”. He taught for a time at the Blue Bear School of Music in San Francisco before moving to LA with his wife, where they formed a cover band and played the western US for several years before dissolving the group and returning to the SF Bay Area. Charlie continued to play locally with such luminaries as James Moseley, Doc Kraft, David Cumming (Taxxi), Rob Birsinger (Butch Wax and the Glass Packs), Mwanza Furaha and others, and put out his first album (The Truth) in the early 2000’s.
